‘SZZLNG’ For You

I guess I didn’t get the memo. Today apparently was personalized plate day in Reno.  

I can’t believe how many I saw.  

Just recently I read an article that said nine million Americans have personalized plates, but they highlight the driver’s personality since they want to show the world they’re special.  

Well I think all nine million of those drivers live in Reno – Lord!  

SHRBLSS, LVMYLIFE, JOLEEN2, 19MAR75, RUIZBROS, ARIES42, INSNLCK, DNNRMNT are just some of them I saw just on my way to work.  

I originally wanted BULLITT for my Mustang, since the car itself is based on Steve McQueen’s facial features. But after some screaming and throwing fits, I was denied by the Nevada DMV. Three of the five personalized plate panel basically said I would offend old ladies with it.  

It’s a movie and I stated that to the woman on the phone and she noted it for me for the panel to consider. Nope. Sweet.  

So I had to go to my second choice – SZZLNG. It’s a hot lookin’ car if you ever see me. And I didn’t want the HHHHOT Paris Hilton plate so I went with that.  

Although I’d still want BULLITT.  Thanks to me if you try to input it into the DMV site, it will come up saying “BULLITT is not suitable and cannot be ordered. You may enter a different combination and try again.Please enter a plate number!”
