Struggling to Find Inner Peace

God bless my parents!

They bought me a new ipod for my July 17th birthday. I’ve always wanted one, but assumed I’d get one later down the line.

But now that I have one, I’ve been hurriedly searching for songs and movies that I’ve always wanted to own (and for a two inch screen!)

Thanks to youtube, I can also ‘preview’ my songs beforehand before making that big 99-cent purchase.

My ever growing list now consists of about 300 songs. Short, but a certainly a start for me. Apparently it holds up to 40,000 songs so I’m being nice and sharing it with my parents (especially since they bought it!)

Anyway, I noticed the other night I kept searching for, I guess, I would call them soothing songs. Their lyrics contain profound, life affirming, soul searching words pieced together in a harmonious melody.

“Like what?” you ask.

Here is Kellene’s list for ‘peaceful’ songs:

·        Peter Gabriel – Digging in the Dirt

·        Martin Page – In the House of Stone and Light

·        Verve – Bittersweet Symphony

·        Vertical Horizon – Everything you Want

·        Rembrandts – Just the Way it is

Ok, maybe only a few do, but you get my point. The first two definitely do – but the rest still affect me the same nonetheless.

As I’ve gotten older, I’m noticing I’m focusing more on these types of songs. Dear God I hope it doesn’t turn into a trend with me.

I still need to rock out sometimes to Metallica and Guns n’ Roses!
