Bret Michaels Released From Phoenix Hospital

After almost two weeks, Bret Michaels is out of the hospital.

Dr. Joseph Zabramski of the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix says Michaels is talking very well and is mentally aware of everything going on, but he can’t walk very well.

He says Michaels is still in pain as the blood near his brain dissolves.

Zabramski expects Michaels will make a 100% recovery and he’s lucky to be alive.

Michaels suffered a brain hemorrhage shortly after having an appendectomy last month. Zabramski says Michaels’ condition is probably unrelated to the appendectomy or to the incident at the Tony Awards last year when Michaels was hit in the face with a piece of scenery.

He recommends Michaels wait at least four to six weeks before resuming normal activity.

And, he needs to be checked every two weeks to make sure there are no problems.

Michaels tells People magazine that the subarachnoid hemorrhage “sounded like a handgun” and made his mind go almost blank. He says his neck tensed up to the point that he couldn’t move his head.

The rocker also recalled asking a doctor if he was going to die. He also told the doctor that he didn’t want his two daughters to see him in his condition.

Michaels is still on “Celebrity Apprentice.” It was taped near the end of last year.

If he avoids being fired by Trump in upcoming episodes, there’s a chance Michaels could attend the season finale May 23 in New York even though that’s only two and a half weeks from now.

The finale features the last two contestants performing a final task, typically organizing a charity event, then debating each other live in front of Trump.
