‘Inception,’ ‘Social Network’ Among AFI’s Top 10

The blockbusters “Inception” and “Toy Story 3,” the Facebook drama “The Social Network,” the heist thriller “The Town” and the Western “True Grit” are among the American Film Institute’s top-10 movies.

Also on the AFI list Sunday were the ballet drama “Black Swan,” the boxing saga “The Fighter,” the lesbian-family tale “The Kids Are All Right,” the survival story “127 Hours” and the Ozarks crime thriller “Winter’s Bone.”

Unlike other film honors, AFI does not rank films or pick one as the year’s best.

Academy Awards favorite “The King’s Speech” was ineligible because it is a British production, and the AFI awards honor films with largely American backing. But the AFI did present a special award to “The King’s Speech.”
