Kurt Cobain Statue Unveiling in Hometown April 5

A sculpture in honor of Kurt Cobain will be installed in his hometown on the 17th anniversary of his death.

The eight-and-a-half-foot tall sculpture of a guitar will be unveiled April 5 in Aberdeen, Washington, in a park next to the Young Street Bridge.

Cobain mentions the area in “Something in the Way,” and he spent time there growing up, when it was still covered in brambles. It used to be hard to find references to

Cobain in Aberdeen, but the city has adopted “Come As You Are” as its unofficial slogan.
