Katie Couric – Final ‘CBS Evening News’

Katie Couric signed off as “CBS Evening News” anchor for the last time last night.

As she did, she thanked viewers for “coming along with me on this incredible journey.”

Her final interview was Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Couric wrapped up her final newscast with “five years in five minutes.” Images flashed by of major stories she covered and people she interviewed during her time at CBS.

Scott Pelley will replace her as the regular anchor, starting June 6.

Couric was the first woman to anchor a network evening newscast by herself, without a co-anchor. She hasn’t said where she’ll land next. But, it’s likely to be ABC.

She’s talked with executives there about doing a daytime talk show along with some work at the news division.
